On modern browsers, such as IE7 and Firefox, hitting Ctrl + Enter will automatically fill in the www. and the .com part of the URL. I bet every is familiar with that but do you know this.
- Shift + Enter – Auto-complete *.net address
- Ctrl + Shift + Enter – Auto-complete *.org address
If you add Alt to any of those key combinations, it will auto-complete and open the new address in a new tab as well. Alt+Ctrl+Enter will auto-complete a *.com address in a new tab, for instance.
Well try it now!

Source: Windows Team Blog: Due to very heavy traffic we’re seeing as a result of interest in the Windows 7 Beta, we are adding some additional infrastructure support to the Microsoft.com properties before we post the public beta. We want to ensure customers have the best possible experience when downloading the beta, and I’ll be posting here again soon once the beta goes live. Stay tuned! We are excited that you are excited! That’s right, another version of Windows is in the making: Windows 7! Windows 7 is basically going to be Windows Vista without all the problems and annoyances that made using it such a pain. Also, it is supposed to be compatible with all hardware and software and come with a Home Networking program called Home Group. As of January 4th, 2009, Windows 7 was released to select beta-testers for a 30-day trial; and to an even smaller number of testers with a longer (unspecified) test period.
